I am so excited to have a url for Kintype Photography. The new website is kintype.com. Easy, huh. I have posted several of the same images that were on this blog and many, many more new ones! I am keeping the blog up so that I can post new alternative processes, art work, and teasers of new images. Maybe I will actually begin to use it as a blog....what a concept!

Feature Alternative Process
'Perfect Kiss'-Cyanotype
- The cyanotype is an old process originally used in blue printing. It has since been converted to alternative photography.
- How does it work? Well, you hand coat the chemicals onto a watercolor style paper and then lay the negative on top. It is then exposed to UV light (ie. the sun). After about 20 minutes of a water bath the bright blue really comes out.
- FACT. If left in UV light continuously the print will become "washed out" or faded.
- FACT. After being faded in constant UV light the image has not been lost forever. If the print is put in a dark place for a few hours the bright blue hues will be restored.
